1899 $5 SILVER CERTIFICATE CHIEF FR#281 CGA 66 GEM UNC Picture(s) and Description:
You are bidding on the:Serial # N64617891, signatures of Speelman/White, Friedberg # 281. This note has a portrait of Ta-to-ka-yan-ka, also known as Running Antelope, a member of the Oncpapa tribe of Sioux Indians, on its obverse. George F.C Similie engraved the portrait. This is the only issue of U.S. paper money for which a Native American was selected as the central feature. The note pictured below features very crisp bright paper, dark printing, deep punch through embossing, silk fibers galore, and dark printing. High quality CGA 66 GEM! Very nice margins.
