US CURRENCY 1935A HAWAII $1 SILVER Old Paper Money FINE We have here a U.S. WORLD WAR II EMERGENCY ISSUE HAWAII OVERPRINT $1.00 SILVER CERTIFICATE 1935A NOTE. This is the prized Brown Seal $1.00 bill from the opening days of the Second World War in the Pacific, a must for any collection. It was issued only from 1942 44 for use in the war zone and is a very special note. This note is from the S C block.

Book value for this note is $45, but retailers and Shop at Home TV often charge up to $75 each just because they are so popular and they only used the brown seal this one time for Silver Certificates. This note has a little of the usual tropical stain(darkening), but no ink or writing. This war note shows normal handling with visible folds and many flattened wrinkles and fairly light soiling, it has excellent color, has smooth edges and full corners. The tropical staining is normal for Hawaii notes. It saw moderate time in circulation. I'd have rated this at Very Fine, but on the reverse is some foxing, or wearing away of some of the printed area due to tape removal I'd think, so I'd rate it at FINE, but you be the final judge in the photos. You can enlarge the photos. It's in great shape for a WWII vet! This note is in alot better shape than 65% of the surviving war notes.
